2018 Likeda Education Programming and Oxford English Summer Camp was held in Peking University New Century School – Wenzhou from 8th July to 14th July. This summer camp introduced the programming course CodeMonkey. Moreover, English teachers were invited from Oxford University so students could learn under native English-speaking environment.

CodeMonkey is a well-known programming course from Israel. It allows students to learn to program through games. In the game, students needed to help monkeys collecting bananas by programming to get into higher stages. Because of the game, they could learn to program autonomously and cheerfully. CodeMonkey is known worldwide. It has more than 2.5 million users and is being taught in more than 1,700 schools around the world. Besides, teachers rewarded “coins” to students who completed the challenges. Students could exchange gifts with “coins” so intangible efforts became visible rewards.

In addition to programming class, the summer camp also set up other interesting activities. Intensive English class was arranged every day. Each lesson had different themes and activities. Therefore, students could devote themselves to learning English. Furthermore, individual oral tutoring was arranged. Through the daily conversation with teachers, students could practice English speaking skill. There was also a creative time every night which was the time for Students to free their imagination.

In these seven days, students could learn by games. After the camp, their programming skills and English could be improved. Moreover, their abilities in logical thinking, critical thinking, creativity, and cooperation had been all-rounded improved.
